Purebred dogs are registered only by Finnish Kennel Club - Suomen Kennelliitto, and only SKL-FKK - FKC pedigrees are official for Finnish dogs.

Health

Hips
A/A**B/B - hip x-ray result, healthy
C/C - hip x-ray result, loose joint, moderately sick
D/D**E/E - hip x-ray, often arthrosis, severe changes, sick

Hip dysplasia grades C-E are not permitted in breeding in Finland since 1995

Elbows
0/0 - healthy
1/1 - almost healthy
both accepted in breeding, but the total count of elbows in combination is allowed to be 2.

All the rest of the elbow results are sick and not to be considered in breeding.

Eyes
Only dogs with clear eyes are permitted in breeding since 1995. In Finland we check the eyes every 24 months, for HC, PRA, Keratitis and PHTVL/PHTV. HC or PRA eyesick dogs descendants are not registered in Finland. Keratitis and PHTVL are not yet considered heritable in our breed, but both dogs in the combination are not to carry the same finding.
